After 20 years of study, researchers confirmed the anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antioxidant actions of the propolis extract
Among the wide variety of phytotherapics, the propolis extract is one of the highlights of the last decades. Collected by bees of different plants, Brazilian propolis varies in composition and appearance, and may be dark brown, greenish or reddish brown.
Its composition presents important phenolic acids and flavonoids among other chemical compounds that prove its biological and pharmacological properties.
After 20 years of study, researchers at the School of Agriculture Luiz de Queiroz (Esalq) of USP confirmed the anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antioxidant actions of the propolis extract.
Popularly known as the “natural antibiotic” the propolis extract is consumed diluted in water, acting on the immune system helping to relieve the symptoms of flu, cold and respiratory allergies.
